Beef

We raise our cows on rich Hubbardston pastures. It is available three or four times per year, based on the optimal condition of our cows. All meat is vacuum-sealed in clear wrap, and flash frozen at a U.S.D.A. inspected slaughterhouse. Cuts of meat are identified on each package.

How to Order

A few times a year, we will announce that it’s time to order. Here is when you’ll find out the price per pound, and a general sense of when the beef will be ready for pickup. The minimum order is 25 pounds; about the size of a breadbox. This will typically include:
  • One roast (3-5 lbs)
  • An assortment of steaks
  • One pound of stew beef or kabobs
  • Ten to twelve packages of ground beef (one pound each)
If you place an order of 100 pounds or more, it can be custom cut. This gives you choices such as boneless or bone-in roasts, more steaks and less roasts, more stew meat or ground beef, etc. We will contact you about two weeks prior to delivery, so that you can get your freezer ready.

Cooking Tips

  1. Allow meat to thaw completely; do not cook partially frozen.
  2. Preheat grill, pan, or oven before cooking.
  3. Cook with oil or marinate (due to the lower fat content).
  4. Cook using low heat.
  5. Do not overcook; use a meat thermometer.
  6. Remove from heat when 10° below desired temperature.

Benefits of Grass-fed Beef

Our cows are raised on the very best green pastures of Hubbardston. We manage our fields using rotational schedules that ensure cattle are consistently dining on fresh grass. Our beef is raised with absolutely no antibiotics, pesticides, growth hormones, animal by-products, or steroids. Commercial feedlots routinely add antibiotics to help manage highly concentrated grain diets; we don’t have that problem! Grass-fed beef has more omega-3 fatty acids than grain-fed cows, producing leaner meat. Healthier and happier cows make the best beef for your family!

We offer grass-fed, farm raised beef and high-quality hay from our own farm land in Hubbardston, MA
